Intermittant oil burner failure

Just had boiler cleaned and serviced 2 months ago. Complete service new nozzle, filters, screen cleaning ,etc. Ran good 1 month and we are having intermittent problem with boiler reset switch popping 1 or 2 times a day.. Fires right up and runs each and every time reset button pushed. Have not been able to see when failure occurs because it is so intermittent and I can't watch it all day. Have checked and cleaned flame sensor no help. How do I determine if Honeywell 4184d-1027 intermittent relay is defective or Honeywell L812c1003 aqua-stat may be causing problem. I would like to repair myself rather that have tech spend hours of time and tons of parts to troubleshoot.

There's something very simple you can do & will be a big help & helping you troubleshoot. The next time you have to reset the burner, once it fires look at the flame. It should be a bright light yellow. If it is orange or very yellow this tells us it's getting fuel & not igniting. Get back to us on the flame color.
