armstrong air tech 80 gas furnace unit will occasionaly not start.

I have an armstrong Ultra V Tech 80 furnace. G1N80BU100D14B The unit will work for awhile and then fail to ignite sometimes when the t stat calls for heat. I look on the control board and the led is flashing 8 times. I cycle power to the unit and it starts right up.

What does the 8 flashes mean? Should be some explanation on the unit or in the manual for it.

I'd check your flame sense rod, if you are unsure what that is, google it. I had to clean mine and it works great. Had the furnace for 11 years now, and as long as I clean the rod every year, I have no trouble with the heat starting. I realize this is from 3 years ago, but anyone having this issue can see how to fix it.
