Have electric heat with heat pump. Got a cold
snap here in VA, temperature in upper digits to
mid teens.

Thermostat set to 68, yet temperature reads
60. Fan is blowing but air is luke warm, aux light
is on.

Looking for suggestions on what to check/do to
ensure system is operating correctly and best way
to increase temperature.

Have had a few of these from Nothern Virginia. Switch to em. heat only and it will keep you warm. Too cold too long for the bases that your home was built. Your average building temp is about +30 degrees.
