cant keep pilot lit.

ive been trying to relight pilot on a natural gas furnace. pilot will light but wont stay lit. ive been holding gas **** open for at least 5 minutes but when i release to turn it to the furnace on position, pilot just goes out.

Lightbulb

take the thermo couple loose at the regulator { the block where your on off pilot button is. The thermo is the round solid piece that sets in pilot flame so you can trace it back to the reg, after taking it out of the reg just scrub the end on your pants leg real good and make it real shiney then reinstall it and try lighting again also chek and make sure the bulb is clean and right in the piolot flame if that doesn,t work you'll probably need a new thermo couple

Clean pilot assembly and pilot thimble orifice inside assembly, replace thermocouple.

SEE MY OTHER POST....PILOT TOO SMALL..GAS PRESSURE PLOW...
