I HAVE TWO PROBLEMS ----(ARE THEY RELATED) ?????

FIRST IS THAT I HAVE BANGING AND RATTLING AT THE SUPPLY SIDE
PIPES FROM MY BOILER...NOT STEADY...ONLY OCCASIONALLY.

SECOND IS THAT MY SAFETY VALVE BLOWS OCCASIONALLY...ABOUT
HALF A BUCKET EVERY WEEK.

THIS IS A HOT WATER CLOSED LOOP GAS FIRED BASEBOARD HEATING
SYSTEM WITH 4 CIRCULATOR PUMP ZONES.

I HAVE TRIED A NEW PRESSURE REGULATOR VALVE,A NEW SAFETY
VALVE AND HAVE DRAINED THE EXPANSION TANK...NOTHING SEEMS TO
HELP. I TRIED CLOSING OFF THE WATER SUPPLY VALVE WHICH BRINGS THE ALTITUDE PRESSURE DOWN TO 10 POUNDS AND THIS STOPS THE VALVE FROM BLOWING,BUT I AM AFRAID TO LEAVE IT THIS WAY PERMANENTLY BECAUSE THE BOILER MAY BE DAMAGED BY LOW WATER.

WILL APPREIATE ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS. THANK YOU

Hot water boilers are to be run at 12psi.

have you looked at your fresh water intake. that is the easiest way to increase pressure in a water system. make sure the valve is not bleeding thru. also check the temp on the boiler. is it over firing. only need 140 deg F water for good heating. also pressure is different with each system. might only need a few psi for sufficient heating.
