noisy air intake

noisy air intake

Had a new force air installed in a pantry area . It has one intake air vent and is extremely noisy .Is there a way to quite the fresh air intake?

The usual cause is ductwork that is too small that requires air velocities that are excessively high, causing noise.


You should complain to the contractor that designed and installed your system, and do so promptly.

bend the fins on the intake vent until the noise stops, open them up a bit more to allow for more air to be sucked in.
