I have a Williamson gas furnance, the problem is: The system will kick on like it is heating the chamber before the fan starts but a second or two later the burner will kick OUT and relight again....and again....and again...you get my point. It doesn't happen all the time, but more and more. After awhile the burner will stay lit and so far the system still heats the house. I do have the system on a programmable thermostat. Any thoughts??

Several possibilites may be causing the condition.
Without the proper tools, training, experience and diagnoses proceedures, this can become far more difficult than a doityourself repair, in my opinion.

Possible problems:
A weak pilot generator.
An improperly heated pilot generator.
A weak pilot flame.
Bad gas valve solenoid. <Most likely cause.>
Flame rollout safety switch shut off the main burners.
Restricted vent or firebox causing flame smothering.
Bad low voltage connection or a loose wire connecton.
Faulty thermostat. <Not likely.>

Contact a licensed heating agent for that furnace brand located in your area.
