gas hot water heater

Hot water heater does notr seem to be heating the watr as well as it once did. Heat setting is at the hottest. Also is doing a lot of hissing noises. Does it need replaced it is 9 years old, builders grade. If so I am handy with tools is it difficult to replace?

HOW DO THE FLAMES LOOK IN YOUR HEATER?NICE AND BRIGHT AND BLUE?WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME THEY WERE REMOVE AND CLEANED?IF YOU HAVE A COUPLE INCHES OF SEDIMENT IN THE BOTTOM YOUR UNIT , THE HEAT TRANSFER WILL BE BAD.WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DRAINED AND FLUSHED IT R E A L G O O D????????PDF
