I have a wood burning fireplace in my home. Unfortunately most of the heat goes up the chimney instead of my home. I don't have a blower on my fireplace and I don't see how to install one. My question: Is there an insert I can put in the existing fireplace with a blower to make it more efficient or is there a chance I could install a blower on the outside of the fireplace to pull the heat out. The gentleman I bought the house from said that the fireplace was only good for cosmetic reasons, that won't do for me. I want to put it to good use.

They make fireplace inserts, with blowers. I'd start checking the Yellow Pages for places that sell woodburning stoves in your area.

Good Luck,
