Unhappy

We just purchased an 18/yo home 2 months ago. I would like to save myself about $200. In order for my Home Warranty Plan to cover some work that I need done on my heat pump system, I must first repair two kinks in one of my lines at the air handler unit that was not caught by the home inspector. I can do the repair myself, but do not know how to pump down the R-22 in the compressor unit so I can do the repairs. I've seen it done in the past and seemed like a pretty simple procedure but did not pay close enough attention to remember how they he did it.

Question: Is this something I would have to call a TECH for or is this something that I can do myself? If so, where can I find out information on how to do this?

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
