Older Whirlpool Gas Furnace Won't Come On

My furnace gas won't come on.
It is a Whirlpool FSB74-125B
The pilot is lit.
Blower will run
The transformer has 120 Volts at each terminal.

The wires at the thermostat also have 120 V. Is this a good indication that the transformer is bad?

If so are these model specific, or is there a generic one I can get?

Is it for sure a 120 to 24V transformer? if so, I would say yes bad transformer, but I would also say be ready to replace more components....If they were delivered 120V instead of 24V then they might be fried as well.

no, typically not correct.... you probably need a new transformer, stat, gas valve, and possibly a relay.... but hard to say until you replace the transformer.
