Exclamation Compatible replacement motor for a Custom-Aire furnace?

I'm having trouble finding a replacment motor for my Custom-Aire furnace. Serial # T8582. The motor is blown out and the furnace is so old that there is no label on the motor. It's a GE Motor but I can't tell anything other than that.

The furnace information shows:
Model: T 80DD
Bonnett Capacity: 64.000
Input B.T.U/HR: 80.000
115 Volts 60 cycles . less than 12 amperes
Approved for a temperature rise of from 70 *F to 105 *F

That's all I could find on the furnace itself. Any suggestions? I don't want to buy a motor too powerful that it blows out the furnace.

That information is from the rating plate on the furnace.

There will be a rating plate on the motor itself that will have the information you need. Is a belt used to drive the fan or is the fan directly driven by the motor shaft?

The fan is directly driven by the motor shaft. There may have been a plate on the motor but it must have fallen off. Unless it is hidden behind the metal band holding it in place to the fan housing. It's stuck most likely from rust and I haven't been able to get it off.

You either have to be able to pull out the motor or call a repair service to do it for you.

What makes you think the motor needs to be replaced?
