Furnace (NTC6050FBG1) Ignitor-Flame Rod Assembly (Q3400A) Issues

Hello,

We recently moved and upon inspection of our furnace (NTC6050FBG1 furnace)we noticed the ignitor didn't warm up or light. We purchased a Honeywell Q3400A replacement as specified and everything was fine for 89 days. (we only know that because when we called about a warranty we called on the last day of the 90 day warranty.) It quit working over christmas and we noticed the ignitor wasn't lighting again.
We got a new ignitor today and when we took the 3-month old one out, we noticed the actual ignitor part had burned off. The original one from when we moved in did not have this same problem. It was 100% intact just not working somehow. We installed the new one (because we had no choice, it is winter and we're in ohio ) but need to know what to avoid so we don't have to replace the ignitor-flame rod assembly every 3 months. Is it possible that our gas pressure it up to high and the flame itself is doing the damage? Any help would be appreciated. If more info is needed let me know. THANKS!!!

The most common cause for an ignitor to burn off is contamination during installation. Be VERY careful not to touch or bump the ignitor. They are extremely fragile.
