I have a 40 year old 3 bedroom ranch brick home with a basement. The original furnace is a williamson 5 in 1. The location is in the far corner of the basement. The main trunk line runs the entire length of the basement (approx 35 feet). All the runs come off this. I have several rooms that receive air but not very warm. I have opened the dampers and checked for restrictions and think that the piping is all ok. My question is: When the new furnace is installed, can I change the location ? I would like to remove the first 10 or 15 feet of main trunk. There are no runs until about 16 1/2 feet down the line. Seems to me that I have some dead space here that is doing me no good. So, can I cut the trunk line and tee into with my plenium. I hope I am making sense. Can someone please help ?
Please e-mail too if you want.
