Bottom Panel Problem

Hi Everyone-
I have a seemingly small problem with my York Diamond 90 furnace that I feel ridiculous for not being able to figure out!
I recently took my top panel and bottom panel of my unit off to replace my filter (we recently moved into the home). When I put the bottom panel back on, the top does not stay tight/flush. There is no noticeable magnetized button, no latch, no nothing? There is a push button that does not stay depressed when pushed. It will click but always comes back out to the same point. If I leave the panel be, the bottom will stay attached and the top will sag out towards me 2-3inches.
The problem (besides cosmetic) for all of you who understand these pieces of equipment is that the heat will not kick on, with the panel not fully flush and in position!
Any ideas??
Thanks for your help guys.

Hmmm did you reverse the panels per chance, it is easy to do.

Repairing furnaces really isn't that hard, usually. Mostly we get paid the big bucks for getting the panels back in place.
