Need help! Forced air lennox furnace not kicking in.

My furnace is not kicking in. When turned on it sounds like its trying to go then after a few minutes stops making any sound. Almost like its trying to get a motor going or something. I tried turning everything off and turning the gas line off for 5 minutes and restarting but the same thing is happening.

This is 6-7 year old lennox forced air furnace. Any ideas? Any suggestions?

post your model number

give a detailed description of the sequence of events that happen with a call for heat. Also check the diagnostics lights on the control board and the legend on the furnace that describes what the lights mean.

So when it calls for heat the unit has a sound go that sounds like "ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh". This goes on for a while then it just completely stops.

The red light stays off, the green slow flashes. According to the diagnostic codes it indicates either:

A) Pressure switch open or
B) Blocked inlet/exhaust vent
C) Condensate line is blocked (for condensing furnaces only) or
D) Pressure switch closed prior to activation of combustion air inducer.

I should note that the igniter doesn't glow.

your inducer may be locked up or full of water. You need to find out what is making the noise.
