Leaking oil tank

Hi,
My 275 gallon above ground oil tank has a very slow leak on the bottom at the end where the seam is. Is there a patch kit for this? We were told about one but the store said they don't make it anymore.

Thanks.

There are emergency magnetic tank patches available but they are only for short term use & would not work well, if at all, on a seam. I suggest you replace that tank before that little leak becomes a big on & you are stuck with a huge cleanup bill.

There is an automotive fuel tank repair epoxy product made by ITW. Claims to work in the presence of deisel which is almost the same as #2 fuel oil. I've never used it. Try some auto parts stores and see what they have. But like Grady says, don't count on any patch to be permanent. If it does hold, run the tank down at the end of the season and replace it.
