How to find local HVAC part store for furnace parts in DC/NV area

I recently ordered a controller board online, it worked great, but it still took 2 days to get the part.

I could not find a local store for furnace part, what's the best way to find a local HVAC part store in Washington DC, Northern Virginia area? I searched online, all I found were HVAC service companies.

Thanks

Look for plumbing and heating supply companies, Ferguson comes to mind as a large enough outlet that a branch may be in your area. Go to the parts dept usually located around back.

Thanks!

I noticed Ferguson earlier this morning when I searched online and visited their web site, I did not see furnace parts on their web site. I'll call them and stopped by when I have chance.

It's nice to know a local store for emergencies.

I went to main Ferguson web site (I was on a local plumbing web site this morning) and found the closest HVAC store at:

5701 T General Washington Dr
Alexandria, VA 22312

I called and found home owners can't buy HVAC parts from local stores in states like VA.

I have an Electrical Engineering degree, designed and fixed much more complicated systems at work, I could not even buy electronic parts (circuit board) for my home at local store.

It might depend on the individual store. There are several HVAC stores in the area where I live, 1 will sell me most anything I need but another store will only sell to licensed contractors.

That's true, some members mentioned they picked up the same part (W.R 50A55-843) from local stores. A member from Delaware was able to buy a blower motor from a local store after the store initially refused.

I may have higher chance if I stop by the store than call them, but I hate to drive there and get rejected.

It seems online stores are my best choices, they are often cheaper than local stores.

I just searched, they have it online and ready to ship:

Search 50A55-843 - Grainger Industrial Supply

I found one of their branch very close to my home, they only open M-F, I'll call next Monday.

Thanks.
