unstable flame in only 1 out 5 burners/all burners shuts off after blower turns

I have been trying to figure out what's wrong with my gas furnace by googling online, including this forum. any help is appreciated.

there are total of 5 burners, after all of them are ignited, the flame in the
burner on the far right hand side starts flickering. After the fan comes on,
the flame in the same burner above flickers even more so now, then about 5 seconds, all 5 burners shut off, fan continues to blow about 1 minute. Then entire cycle starts again, repeating for about four times after which then the gas furnace just stops.

I have reset the thermostat, and the gas furnace. It worked for a bit, but the problem comes back again. Then after googling, I have checked the orifice of manifold, cleaned the flame sensor, same problem still exists.

why only the flame on the right edge burner flickers before the fan comes on, then it flickers really bad after the fan comes on? Is it some problem with the heat exchanger? but why only one burner then? Thank you. Any insight is appreciated.

That's called flame roll-out. You need to have a PRO check out your heat exchanger ASAP.
Air leaking out of your heat exchanger is causing that.
Why only one burner ? Maybe that's the closest one to the crack.
You can also be getting CO inside your house from the same crack.

Here is a video on You tube that illustrates it. There are several videos there that show the problem.

Thumbs up

thanks for the information.
So leaky exchanged to cause unstable flame to come and go (not flickering) even before the the blower turns on? Thank you.
I will try to take a video of the flame tonight.

My furnace runs normal now with the burner door open.. Any idea why the gas furnace with the door closed would have the issue above? Thank you

You have a high probability of a cracked heat exchanger causing "fan interfereance" with the burners.

The furnace should be left turned off until inspected by a competent repairman.

This is a classic symptom of a dangerous furnace. Guessing and supposing doesn't cut it as a troubleshooting method.

Could be something else, but could be isn't good enough either.
