Question Gas furnace starts, then shuts off while blowing cold air through vents

We are having an issue with our 7 year old gas furnace. It powers up, the pilot ignites, the flame fires up for 3 seconds, then it shuts off. The unit blows cold air through the vents the entire time and the whole cycle of starting up, igniting, turning off after a few seconds continues until we turn the heat off on the wall thermostat.
I read online a bit and it seems this might be a flame sensor issue, but I'm not an expert, so any advice or ideas on what the problem might be before calling a heating company would be appreciated. Thanks!

It will certainly help if you post the make and model of your furnace.
