Moncrief furnace blower issue

I have an older York Moncrief model L-100-E Series # 3. I came home from work today and I noticed my house was a bit chilly. I turned the furnace up 2 degrees and it called for heat but nothing happened. So here is what is going on.

1. I have a pilot light and it is lit.
2. My thermostat does call for heat when turned past a certain point.
3. You can clearly hear the click of heat call at the furnace.
4. It remains like this for a few minutes then shuts off. The blower motor never turns on and no heat is produced or sent through vents.
5. If I switch the blower fan from auto to manual the blower motor DOES turn on but again. NO heat.

It is going down to a chilly 18 degrees here this evening so any help would be very appreciated.

No. Just the pilot light is lit. Clicks as if it is going to but does not then shuts down.

As far as I can tell it is. yes. It comes from an old metal plate that is riveted to the outter shell. It is an old Moncrief. from the 60's perhaps? Huge dinosaur of a unit but runs like a champ except once a year this issue happens. Every year. I have always called in a repairman but I really cannot afford it this year and it always seemed to only take them like 10 min to correct
