Gas fired boiler will not fire up. Pilot is lit.

Crown Aruba Series Model ABF-SPD Continuous Pilot.

“Pilot is lit”

When emergency switch is turned on and off the following accrues.

Damper opens.

Circulator pumps is on.

Thermostat is calling for heat.

(no igniting of flame)

However when I run a jump wire from aquastat ( T ) 24v
to the Gas value - fires up.

What is the cause of this?

Thank you.

Sounds like a relay in your aquastat is going or gone bad.

I am a bit concerned about the bit about the emergency switch being turned on and off. If I'm reading your post correctly, the circulation pump(s) and dampener still operate when this switch is on or off?

Mike - Thank you.

The emergency switch was manually being turned on and off by me.

I wanted to explain clearly how it was operating.

Thank you again.

Q) So I would have to replace the complete Aquastat?

All the best Gary

I suspect replacing the whole aquastat.
What is the make/model of the actual aquastat?

The damper may not be opening all the way or end switch failure. Not sure which one you have but there should be a switch to manually open it. Put it on manual and try to fire the boiler.

Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?

I will post back with the manual and trouble shooting tips.

I dont think its the relay if the circ is running......

Here is the manual. I will locate the Effikal manual since thats the damper you have I believe.

Here is a recall on effikal but I dont think your boiler is there.
