Beckett burner rumble
A year ago I needed a new pump for my Beckett burner on my hot water heater and when it fires it rumbles loudly for a minute or two then settles down.
I checked the flue damper with a flashlight and the combustion is clear.
It did not make this rumble with the original pump which was only 6 years old.
Any things I need to look for?

Mackey, I'm no burner guy but I had a similar problem on my Becket years ago after I had it serviced. It turned out that too much oil was being sent into the box before firing. When It finally fired it was a very loud rumble. When the excess oil burned up it went back to normal until it had to re-fire the next cycle. I cant remember exactly what was done to correct it but the service guy came back and fixed it fairly quickly. Check out this link. SOLVING RUMBLES AND PULSATIONS

If you haven't already, install a new nozzle and fuel filter. Inspect the electrodes for proper set up. Ensure there is not an air problem with the fuel. Bleed the pump until the fuel runs clear. On start up, listen for the buzzing noise of the spark that lights the fire. Sometimes the transformer is going bad and the spark will be delayed a second or two.
