Heil NTC5 inducer motor keeps cycling on and off

Recently the inducer motor on my gas furnace will not stop cycling. Whenever my thermostat is set to heat, the inducer motor constantly cycles on and off. When the thermostat calls for heat, the furnace fires as normal. When the furnace is fired up, the inducer motor stays on...not sure if this is correct?
Thanks for any advice,
John

Inducer motor will cycle as there is a call for heat, only then will it run. It shouldn't run when there isn't a call for heat. Not sure if this helps.

What thermostat are you using? Post the make and model number of the thermostat.

Thank you for the response. My question really is should the inducer continue to run while the main blower is on and the furnace is fired?

As long as the thermostat is calling for heat.......the inducer should be running. If the inducer is not running the burner will not light. It has nothing to do with the main blower.

If I understand your problem correctly..... if the thermostat is set to off there is no problem.
If the thermostat is set to heat BUT is not calling for heat......the inducer fan (not the main blower) comes on intermittently.
When the thermostat calls for heat.....all is ok.

This problem has affected others. Different heating systems but same intermittent inducer issue.

Yes, if the burners are on then the inducer must be on.
