Question

My high efficiency gas furnace is about 4yrs old. It is a direct vent forced air furnace built by Inter-City Products Corp. The exhaust blower is contained in a circular black plastic housing (motor is rated at 115v at .7A). It is connected to a 4" diameter plastic pipe which vents outside. The exhaust blower starts to operate about 20-30 seconds before the main blower starts. There is a fair amount of vibration noticeable during the time that just the exhaust blower is operating. The noise travels up the duct work and can be heard easily on the first floor. This problem has become apparent over the last heating season. Other than the noise, the furnace operates properly. Can anyone suggest what might be wrong?
Thanks for your help.

One of

3 things>>>>>The motor bearings are going, the squirrel cage is off balance,or a squirrel is in the squirrel cage(or some other varmit climbed in to keep warm). You will have to examine assembly. Also check all mounting bolts to insure vibration has not loosened them.PDF
