Question Lennox G14 Wont Start Unless Filter Door Is Removed And Reinstalled

I am off on sick leave and am afraid to call a service tech about my Lennox Pulse G14. I have no idea what expense I will run into. What happens is during the day the furnace is turned off at the thermostat because this time of year it is cold at night and hot during daylight. When turning the heat on, it will not start unless I remove the blower/filter door and reinstall it. I was wondering if the system is locking out somehow and tripping the door switch is resetting it. I have read about the problems with the air and gas flappers, could this be my problem?

I bought this house with this unit already installed but have never had it serviced (in the 13 years I have been in it) and feel lucky I have not had any problems till now....

Does it start up if you push on the door in the area the switch is? Maybe you are not closing the door correctly.
