Carrier made in 1999(?) shuts off and tries to restart.
Hello, I'm no mechanic so I'll try to explain the best of my ability.
The furnace has operation noises in this order: motorized noise, click, burner, motorized noise off, air blower.
Normally how the furnace starts is: motorized noise turns on, one click, then burner ignites, motorized noise turns off, then air blower turns on.
Now the motorized noise stays on even after the burner is lit. After, sometimes 1 to 20 minutes, it prematurely shuts off without reaching the desired temperature.
Sometimes it will shut down completely and restart after 2-6 hours, but sometimes this motorized noise will try to restart the heater immediately, fails, then gives up.
Once in a blue moon, the heater operates normally and reaches the desired temperature.
The filter is brand new and the thermostat is on Auto Fan @ 64 degrees.
