Doing work at a co-workers house and he has a York stellar plus gas furnace model P2UDD12W07601C serial EHCM44B039 and the ignitor will not come on. When the gas company came to turn the gas on the tech said the ignitor was not coming on so we replaced it. Same tech came out a week later and said it still was not coming on so he turned the gas back off. called some furnace repair people off a classified website. They came out and claimed the ignitor was not getting voltage and that the control board was bad due to moisture in the basement. I messed around with the board and found the red trouble light. According to the board if the light stays on replace control. if it flashes consult the service manual. The light is not staying on and is not blinking. You can hear a rely click either calling for the ignitor or for gas but nothings happening. They also claimed that it was calling for gas instead of calling for the ignitor to light first. The furnace guys were going to try and light the burners by hand but because the tech turned the gas back off he could not. Is there anything we can try to see if the board or relays are bad. They said a new board was 200-400 dollars yet I can get one used online for around $80. I got a model off one of the relays. Honeywell R8222B-1059 the other one the sticker is gone. The Board is White Rodgers model 50E-070.

I have a Bryant 383KAV024070 and the purge or induction motor seems louder this year. I spun the black disk and it seemed smooth. I removed the 3 screws that hold it in and looked at the squirrel to see if it was loose and it was fine. The cage didn't seem to be out of balance it was clean except for a little soot. I spun it by hand and there was no noise and it seemed smooth no side play at all.The grommet on the bottom large screw seemed loose I could move the motor side ways about 1/8 to 3/16 the two top ones had little play. Could I put a little black silicone under the bolt between the grommet that would tighten it up but still let it move a little? I have done this with motor mounts and it works great I found the information on racing web sites
