trane xl 80 not igniting
trane xl 80 wont ignite
model TUD120A9G0A
put in new igniter but when you turn on furnace motor just runs, doesn't click, ignitor doesn't heat up
hasn't been run in over 6 years, tried one ignitor, was wrong one, but put old plug on it to work, it clicked ignitor heated up 2 times, thought it was fine, so I went and installed it, and nothing, no click
thought I had bad connection , so I took old one and got right part, still nothing

Welcome to the forums.
A little hard to follow your sentences there.
The draft inducer should start and in 30 or seconds or so the igniter should start to glow.
When the igniter is glowing for approx 60 seconds the gas valve should open, the burner should light and the igniter will turn off.
If the igniter isn't glowing then you need to check that circuit for voltage.
If the pressure switch that is attached to the draft inducer blower is not functioning properly then the igniter won't start.
There should be a control board in your furnace with an LED for diagnostics. It may be in the blower section down below. If yes, there may be a clear sight glass to look thru the door at it. Once the door is opened..... the code is erased.

looked for blinking light, didn't take bottom panel off, but theres no see thru area in it, didn't notice anything up top either, not sure about age of furnace, is it possible it doesn't have one?

The closest manual I can find similar to yours shows a self diagnostic control box.
Can you post the model number for the control box inyour furnace ?

not sure where that is
only thing I can think is when wiring up the white tightening the screw it broke the little circuit board, but it doesn't seem like it makes any connections inside the board
