Intermittent Furnace Issue

The best kind of issue right?

The furnace will run normally, glow plug starts, gas starts, burner starts, blower starts and furnace runs. At some point this process fails, and the furnace blows cold air. Removing the bottom cover (that has a kill switch attached to it) seems to reset the furnace and it will operate normally again.

The problem is intermittent, and the warning light seems to only flash steady (Referring to "External Fault"). However, yesterday the warning light flashed a "gas supply issue". We quickly resolved the issue by lightly banging on the gas line, and everything ran normal again. Related?

The glow plug was replaced within the last 2 years.

Welcome to the forums.

I couldn't find any service literature or info on your furnace but I ran across the following:

Clare (also known as Clare Brothers) is a product line of oil furnaces, and is owned by International Comfort Products(ICP) (which in turn is owned by Carrier, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation). ICP markets furnaces under the brand names of Arcoaire, Clare, Comfortmaker, Dettson, Heil, KeepRite, Lincoln, and Tempstar. Clare makes residential furnaces and is headquartered in Canada. Clare does not have a public website.

Your approx 23 year old furnace appears to be a Clare MEMC-60.
You can try contacting ICP at the following link for service info help.
I couldn't find an actual "contact us" page.

Thanks for the info! I just submitted a request.

It seems the light is now just blinking slowly.

Also, when I said glow plug, I should have said ignition, its just really bright when it turns on haha.
