Carrier 58SXA Control Board Wiring Question

I am replacing the blower control board in a 1990 Carrier 58SXA080-JG with a RobertShaw (exact replacement) model. Question is that on the original Carrier board HH84AA015, there is a wire with a resistor jumpered between the W and C terminals. I don't know what that is for or if it is needed with the new board. Any expert advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.

That sounds like the resistor that is added to the control board for thermostats that steal power from the furnace to run on....... Honeywell 4074FAB

You could try not using and see what the thermostat does. If you've installed a battery type then you won't have any problems.
