Will a Gas Furnace Beep?

Don't know if it s the furnace, just trying to isolate a BEEP. Every 15 minutes or so I hear a short, high pitched beep in my garage and can't isolate where it is coming from. Have Gas furnace and air handler in garage and she is heating just fine, all interior cold air filters changed two weeks ago, there is a internal to the air handler filter (fiberglass in a tray) that I have not looked at in about six months but never had any issues here. Is it the furnace?

Do you happen to have any smoke or CO detectors in the area. They make such a beep when the battery is low.

That would be my first thought...some sort of detector. It might take a while...but using a cardboard tube held to your ear can help isolate the area. Look behind benches and cabinets.

Pray that someone didn't seal up a detector in the ceiling. It happens more than you think.

May also be some battery operated device left in a cabinet or tool bag and not used that is on it's last legs.

No detectors in the area, all are in the house.

Furnace beeping

Mystery solved, it is the backup battery in my FIOS system.
