heat unit overheating

heat unit overheating
18000 BTU LG LW1813LR a/c + heat unit set at lowest heat setting possible (60) overnight. Next morning room temp reading at 85. Unit pouring heat out. Turned off and unplugged unit. Any idea what can cause this?

I didn't see a listing based on your model number but I'm guessing this is an 18,000 BTU window or thru wall air conditioner with heat ?
It sounds like a problem with the thermostat which can be an issue on a unit like that.
