Comfortmaker furnace no iginition

I have a 24 year old (1989 SnyderGeneral Model #GUH125A016IN) Comfortmaker furnace that has developed a problem. The induction blower comes on when the thermostat calls for heat, but the induction blower just stays on running forever and nothing else happens.

At no time does the error light come on during the time the induction blower continues to run.

I replaced the igniter hoping it would fix the problem, but it didn’t.

I ”thumped” various parts and places on the furnace while the induction blower was running, and just one time the igniter began to glow and then went immediately out. I couldn’t get it to do it again.

I have searched the previous postings for a similar issue, but haven’t found one exactly like this problem.

Do you think it could be the vent/intake pressure switch?

Any help, and all suggestions, are greatly appreciated.

John

Update - now that it's daylight, I was able to inspect the outdoor intake/output pipes. The intake had a build-up of ice crystals that could have impeded airflow but was not a blockage; I removed the crystals. The output was clear.
Now when the thermostat is turned up, the red error light does come on solid.
Please suggest something I could check out next.
