Squealing furance - Canadian needs to stay warm for -20F weather on Monday!
Hi there. I hope someone can help me determine if my furnace motor is starting to die. Our furnace started squealing about a week ago (see 20-second video here). Other than the noise it's running just fine, but I want to deal with this before anything catastrophic happens, especially since it's supposed to go down to -29C/-20F on Monday. Can anyone help me pinpoint what might be causing the squealing noise, and if this is a fixable problem?
Here's the info sticker from the furnace:

Thanks very much!

Welcome to the forums.
That's called a draft inducer blower and yes..... it is going bad and is on borrowed time.
Since those motors use sealed non-lubricatable bearings..... there is no way to lubricate it properly.

Damn. I was afraid you were going to say that. You're positive it's dying? Typically how long should it last until it quits?
Thanks for the info and for the specific name of the motor that I'll need. I'm confident I can replace it myself if I can get the part. Do you know roughly how much do these motors cost?

Check the link below. The problem is that you are in Canada so you really need to check on your side of the border. This part, if it matches can be a guide for your search.

You hit the nail on the head, goldstar. I went back downstairs to check to see if the motor had a part number on it, and the motor you found is the exact one I need. And it looks like I can get one from Sears Canada for about $117.
Excellent! Thanks very much for all of your help, guys! I really appreciate it. Now I just hope the motor lasts until the replacement comes in.
Have a great weekend!
