Condensation/Corrosion
Just replaced limit switch; had some condensation/corrosion questions.
Condensation pipe [hope that is correct terminology] has been leaking for quite a while it seems but since we have house it has been dry [the rust in pipes is from prior owners time].
Dry UNTIL I started fiddling around with black tube joined to white pvc and it came off AND now can not put back on as connector seems to have broken from white pvc pipe.
As temporary solution have attached using gorilla tape. Please see attached photos of various connectors hoping could fix permanently. Any of these make sense or suggest other solution? Leaning towards using one of the plastic/pvc hose connector.
If use gorilla glue or marine epoxy will there be any issues with any of the metal or plastic connectors or with black tubing and white pvc?
This is my Mom’s and sister’s place so not always there and grew up with baseboard electric heating with ac in windows in summer so very new to this central air/heat!!
York Furnace model: GY9S080B12UP11G installed in 2004.
House is 2250 sq ft with two storeys and unfinished basement. Purchased in 2012.
Thanks.

It's hard to tell what kind of connector is under the tape. Is it threaded in? That's a bad place to have a leak, do you have a CO detector?

Here's some photos with tape off.
It seems it is plastic nut and there seemed to be perhaps some pipe on both sides that has broken or worn down over time.
Thinking of using braided metal to connect and putting glue around it where it goes into white pvc so any water does not leak thru.
Or gluing one of the plastic connectors to white pvc and then putting braided metal connector.
Can't find this part anywhere so need to improvise.
Open to other suggestions for connectors and/or glue.
Thanks.

I could be mistaken but I think that fitting was probably either 1/4 or 3/8" pipe thread. If it won't screw out, you could drill it out & rethread the cap on the bottom of the vertical pipe. Then use a plastic thread buy barb fitting of the correct size.
You might be able to get the part from York.

Talked to a decent HVAC guy in local area that is York supplier. He said they do not supply that particular part BUT that part is not a York furnace part rather a part used by different installers so could find in local hardware stores. He could have easily charged me a $90 charge for tech visit and then spent a good 30 minutes advising me on other furnace questions.
He suggested HD or Noble. Noble guy did not have and wanted me to cut pipe then glue a piece he would supply then insert a threaded connector... way too much work!!
Now on to the interesting tale of two different hardware stores.
Disclaimer: Rant
HD guy took all of 2 seconds to look at black tubing I had brought with then another whole 2 seconds to look at the dozens of connectors they had before saying "This is not normal part... I could spend an hour and not find..." I told jerk that I'll look myself as he was not an experienced employee. He took offense to that and said "He could easily find water shut off valve [someone else had asked for] but the connector I needed required that I look for myself". Told him that was nonsense... if I could not find part then was not a HD employee supposed to be a better resource... left HD and went to Lowe's.
Found a couple of potential connectors at Lowe's in 90 seconds. Asked one of the Lowe's employees and showed him black tubing... we both agreed that one of the brass connector I had seemed to be right [not available in plastic] and very helpfully he advised teflon tape to further water proof and a nut connector to secure black tubing. Now that is helpful!!
End of rant.
Luckily was able to take out remaining pieces of connector [still don't understand how that literally disintegrated] and put in brass connector.
Fingers crossed... used heat and seemed fine and using more AC now anyways so hope fixed correctly.
Thanks all!!

Seems strange the connector was not available in plastic, but so be it. Condensation from a gas furnace is acidic & therefore corrosive. A plastic fitting would be superior to brass because of its resitance to corrosion. You may have to keep an eye on the brass & replace it every few years.
Certainly glad you found an honest HVAC guy who isn't out to skin you. By all means keep his name & number handy. There aren't many of us left out there.
BTW, I've had similar experience with the same two stores as you.
