Trane Gas Pack

This a Trane gas pack unit installed professionally about 2 months ago at my home. I opened the panel to check he wires for adding a thermostat. This doesn't look right to me. Do I need to get the installers back here to check this out? Or is it OK? There is an oily substance pooled up in the right of the photo and it looks like it may have overheated?

Welcome to the forums.

That is either a defective run or start capacitor.
Definitely get the installer back before that capacitor blows open.

Thank You! What would happen if it blows open? Is it dangerous or will it just stop working?

It looks like it already blew open. I wouldn't run the unit till it is replaced.
