We have a Trane Gas furnace (Model# BLU0J0J936A0). For the past 3 mornings, we have awakened to a cold house. Sometime in the night the furnace is shutting off. We had been able to start it again each time by turing it off on the thermostat, waiting about 5 minutes, and then turning it back on. That didn't work today.
We tried to start it manually on the furnace unit. The ignitor glows bright orange and there's a faint smell of gas. But it still won't start. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

sounds as though the gas valve is not opening properly. Check for 24v at the gas valve during ignition sequence. Trane is a good one for haveing a troubleshooting charts in the paperwork. Have you checked it out yet?

I had the same problem with my Trane furnace. In my case the furnace would be humming and the pilot would glow, but the furnace wouldn't light. Check the ignition control module.
