I have a oil forced air furnance and I let the tank run out of oil. Refilled and changed the oil filter. Removed the bleed plug and tried to restart furnance. Furnance turned on (4x's)but no oil every came into the pump.
Is there anything else I can do before I can the repair man?
Thanks in advance.

No, oil did not spirt out of the bleed plug hole when the furnace was tuned on.
Oil was poured into the bleed hole and it would run through the pump when the tube from the filter to the pump was removed. The furance would fire up when turned on when oil was poured in the bleed hole.

Try disconnecting the line at the........

pump and getting oil to flow out of the line there, not a little flow, get a bucket and fill it half way at that line before reconnecting then run with bleed screw open till you get a flow.
