furnace doing nothing

I recently purchased a report trailer and have tried to get the heater to work. Its a Nordyne M1MB 077A BW model...I have a solid red light when I turn on the unit, but nothing happens when I hit the thermostat. Now the AC isnt hooked up to the unit, does it have to be for the furnace to work? Or any other suggestions for someone who has no clue what he is doing?

Not really a lot of info here. Find the furnace board and put a jumper between R and W then put the door back on. The heat should come on. If it does you have a bad stat or bad 24v wiring. If it doesn't come on, I'd check the vent and make sure it isn't obstructed.

Welcome to the forums.

I'm just passing thru but maybe the service manual can shed some light on your problem.

If the "squeeling" noise started right away after you jumpered R to W, it sounds like the bearings in your inducer motor are bad. Does the noise go away or continue? If the inducer fan does not start up and close the pressure switch nothing else is going to happen. After the noise, can you describe what happened or what steps you took?

When you have R and W jumpered and the sequence begins you will need to observe the red LED to see how it it flashes either 2 or 3 times. Your unit information starts on page 26 of the service manual PJmax linked.
