I checked webb supply they would not tell me the cost because I wasn't a contractor and a woodhill wanted me to bring in the part in order to get a price which is not possible at this time ... can anyone here help me?

Just do a Google search. Plenty of places ready to take your money. Why do you believe that you need a new igniter?

I'm getting conflicting results. Spark ignition and a hot surface ignition.
Which does your use ?
You seem to have a Honeywell smart valve system. They are problems in themselves and the problem may be there.

The guy that is working on the furnace told me that the spark ignitor is the part that is needed. I did do a google search, but I could not find anything. I just need to know how much the part is and where I can get one. Perhaps I'm using the wrong key words?

I see the model number listed with the exception of the A at the end, from the link provided ... but he just said a spark ignitor ...nothing about an assembly ... I'm not sure ...

There are two parts.... the spark ignition module and the spark ignitor assembly.
I believe the smartvalve model number may be needed here.

I see ... well I will call the store tomorrow and the repairman to make sure I am getting the right part ... thanks for your help. By the way any idea why some of these stores won't sell to the general public like web supplies?

Some stores cater to Pro's. That has changed quite a bit in the last few years when the economy tanked and they were looking for any sale they could get. Grainger is a good example, as is Ferguson. They used to only sell to Pro's for the longest time.

Most HVAC places still won't sell anything related to gas or refrigerant unless you are licensed. Blower motors, caps, ducting etc,...sure...but not compressors or other parts. Part of it is legal...part of it is safety.

I never had an issue trying to get ancillary parts like ignitors or control modules.

Oh...and could you go back to black text? Blue doesn't work all that well for old eyes.
