High propane usage
We have been using our new furnace for about a month. Last week we ran out of propane. We had used 100 gallons.
We were very suprised. The house is being remodeled so we only used the heat on the weekends. The last two weeks we kept it at 45 to keep the pipes from freezing.
The second floor walls and roof have closed cell spray foam. Nothing on the first floor walls or floor.
The tank was filled in Monday and we already used 40 gallons. They checked the line for leaks when they filled it.
Is this abnormaly high? It has been cold but we expected one tank to last most of the winter.
It is a Goodman 96% efficient furnace. The house is 1400 sq feet.

We need to know approximately where you are to judge what your winters are like.
@kaw "The second floor walls and roof have closed cell spray foam. Nothing on the first floor walls or floor." Did you mean 2nd floor ceiling or the rafters that make up the roof?
And what do you mean by nothing on the first floor walls or floor. If there is no insulation at all in those walls that would be a huge heat loss.
Your 100 gallons for an entire heating season would be very optimistic unless you are in Florida. I'm in Maine and a reasonably insulated home might use that in 30 days. No insulation in the walls and it would only last a week.
What did you convert from and how much fuel were you using before?

It's difficult to comment on your propane usage especially since you have not told us where you are located but yes it's possible to use that much propane. If you have nothing in the walls of the first floor walls and floor than it's very possible to use that much fuel.
You say you expected one tank to last most of winter. How big is your tank? Keep in mind that a 100 gallon tank does not hold 100 gallons of propane as they are usually filled to about 80% of capacity.

Whats make model of furnace?
Do you have a water heater? Make and model please...
Are you on a slab?
Possible slab leak and water heater running constantly... But there are many reasons....
What else is propane?

I am in central MA.
No insulation on the first floor. All new windows on the second floor. 1/2 the windows and doors on the first floor have been replaced.
The furnace is a goodman gmh950704cxaf.
The propane is only used for heat.
45 degrees during the week and 72 on the weekends.
