Goodman furnace 120-5D

I have a 2007 Goodman furnace 120-5D the main blower comes on after the venter blower is energized then the burner ignites out of the sequence. Then continues its cycle. Help!!!

That's not a valid goodman model number.

Could you be a little more specific? Have you checked the sight glass on the blower compartment access panel for a fault code?

There is no flashing red lights just a steady red light. The furnace completes its cycle and heats the house. My Goodman furnace is a GMNT 120-5D

If you remove the service cover in front of the burner..... the full model number should be listed on an ID tag on the side wall.

The steady red may indicate the furnace is functioning normally. However, something is causing the main blower to start too soon. Is there a delay between the time the inducer starts and the main blower kicks in, or do they start at the same time? I'm thinking that there may be a possible wire shorting between the inducer and the blower, causing both to come on at the same time. As you say, it is heating properly but something is causing the out of sequence condition.

Have you changed thermostats recently or since last heating season? Some thermostats have a jumper that has to be set to electric or gas/oil to control the fan. If the jumper is set to electric then the G terminal will be energized and the blower will start up instead of the control board controlling the blower in heat mode.

Thank you for your help. I changed the setting on my thermostat to gas and the furnace is cycling correctly.

Glad to hear it was a simple fix and thanks for the update as it will help others with a similar issue in the future.
