Exclamation Nordyne gas furnace temperature relay tripping

Nordyne Gas Furnace set up for LP. model MGHA-077AAFC-05.

Pilot lit. Furnace burner lights normally and heats for 1 to 2 minutes. Fan turns on fine. Then while fan running, the temperature relay trips, and burner shuts down, followed by fan a few seconds later.

Replaced temperature relay. Still same behavior.

Flame is normal blue flame. Gas company inspected and agreed it is burning normally.

However, it only heats for a few moments and shuts down.

What to try next?

Thanks,
Chip

Are you talking about the high limit switch tripping? If so make sure your filter is clean. Check for any blockages in the ducts.Usuallyy the fan will continue to run to cool off the furnace.

Yes, the switch is a 360 degree switch. That keeps tripping. The furnace hasn't run for at least 2 years, so I probably have a nice nest of rodent de' jour, squirrel, eagle, who knows?! HAHA

Will check. Thanks for the reply...

A 360* switch would almost have to be a flame roll out switch. I don't believe there are any pressure switches on that model furnace. There is a very good chance the chimney is blocked.
