Carrier hvac unit - red light blinking 6 times
I had a guy fix this last year for the same probl. I believe it was a sensor or something- it wasn't a high dollar repair. Unfortunately- he had a heart attack last month and passed away. Wondering if someone here can help me. The unit is 13 yrs old - 2 ton. When I flip the breaker on by the unit- I feel air blowing out of the side vent. Then about 30 seconds later the red light starts a 6 blinking process. The tag says - 6 flashes is Indyced draft motor fault. The motor was replaced 2-3 yrs ago. Any help very much appreciated!

Welcome to the forums.
From the service manual.....
Heating — When the thermostat calls for heating, terminal “W” is energized, starting the induced draft motor. When the hall-effect sensor on the induced-draft motor senses that it has reached the required speed, the burner ignition sequence begins. The indoor (evaporator) fan motor (IFM) is energized 45 seconds after flame is established. When the thermostat is satisfied and “W” is de-energized, the IFM stops after a 45-second timeoff delay.
That means you don't have pressure switch but a rotation monitor in your Carrier packaged unit.
Does the draft inducer start on a call for heat ? If not..... it may be bad again.

Carrier Inducer Motor Part Number?
I am also seeing the 6-LED blink indicating an induced draft motor trouble. Touched the casing of the motor and it was HOT and not moving. I can't get to the shaft to checking if it is rotating, so right now I'm assuming that the troubles lies there. But, not ruling out the capacitor yet either.
Looked up the part number on the end of the motor, and found out that was actually the part number for the Hull Sensor.
Do you have the part number for the induced draft motor and the capacitor? It's difficult to see it on the side of the motor without pulling it out, and with the rain, I don't want to keep the service panel open for long.Same model #48GP-024060301.

Hi , I started getting same issue yesterday. Did you replace motor? if you can please share the part number.
Is this an easy fix or I need to get a HVAC contractor?
In my case my AC is working perfectly alright, only during heat I am having this issue.

Welcome to the forums.
We try not to piggyback problems in a single thread.
Do you have the same EXACT make and model of the unit in this thread ?
If yes.. let me know. If no.... post the correct make and model and I'll start a new thread for you.
