Hi All, I'm going to preface this by saying that I have zero experience dealing with ac/heating units, so a lot of what I ask may already be common knowledge to you all, but is completely foreign to me. To my knowledge, I have a Carrier, model number: 58rav095-16. Recently my heater stopped working and I called out a heating/ac company to take a look at my furnace. They said that my igniter was burned out and it just needed replacing; no big deal. After they replaced it, they said that something still wasn't right and they'd keep checking around. A few minutes later, they reported back that my "board" was bad, and was not cutting power to the igniter even though there was no call for heat. They said that this was the reason my igniter burned out in the first place. They new board, which they would only get from Carrier is $525. Since it's coming up on Summer, I passed on that board and decided to do some research of my own to see if there was a cheaper solution. I did some looking on this forum and saw that another user had pretty much the exact problem (Igniter Stays Lit - won't turn off) and someone suggested they use the ~$90 White-Rodgers 50A55-843 board to fix the problem. My question, is would this board work for me, and how would I go about installing it? Here are some pictures of my lit igniter, and the board I was told needed to be replaced. ICP gas furnace GUA080A012EIN Light flashes 3 time: pressure switch stuck open. DMM reads that the switch is closed. DMM shows 24v going into the pressure switch to the blower and into and out of the high temp switch. Furnace will not heat with the pressure switch disconnected or with the wires shorted. Pressure switch is operational, but not tested with hydrostatic pressure meter. Im thinking its the White Rodgers control module. Ive exhausted all of my handiman ideas for trouble shooting. Any suggestions?
