After a search to see what it was...it looks like heat only. It depends on convection to move the air so it wouldn't be effective for cooling.

Same as baseboard heating with a boiler...if you need cooling as well, it will be central air or window units.

Hm no, cooling is not crucial. Just thinking about it, would be nice to have 2 in 1

these actually are from Verano but as an example seem good and that's why I find that way of heating quite interesting. Will see what I find more on this.
Thanks for answer

Welcome to the forums. This is primarily a North American forum and I too had to look the term up. I have never heard of a heating system like that used in a residential setting. Closest we come is either electric or hot water baseboard heaters. They literally take the place of a section of base board. I don't no if anyone in the forum will be familiar with trench heaters. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...4SPbdsRAgeXbUA

Got to sat they seem to be real dust collectors if they're level with the floor. Would worry to about what falls in touching electrical elements not to mention spilled liquid.

Trench Heaters - water/electric?

I like the idea of trench heaters but I would like to know if they are just water or can be electric as well. I have some brand in mind and it is wet system, but a friend of mine asked about electric ones. Does something like this exist?

Since this is such an unusual product for us here in the States that I combined both of your threads so that all that is discussed is in the same place.

You posted a picture from Verano. Did you check with them ?

From the link in my post above:
A) Trench heating is heating that can be either water-based or electrical, where water pipes, or electrical elements encased in conduit,

Yes, a friend of mine has their trench heaters in their living room, but I cannot reach him to get the answe. I have seen some heaters with their name on when I was to a meeting in one of the hotels in Liverpool. Verano seems to be quite popular here in England. I believe they are reliable. Hm cleaning issue... Maybe when installed in the area where there is a little possibility to pour something inside, it would be easier to overcome it.
