Honeywell control box chatters

I have a Weil-McLain oil fired furnace. A couple weeks ago I noticed the R7184P-1080 control box was chattering, lasted 5 minutes or so. After hearing this happen a few times I called in to have my furnace serviced and specifically pointed out to the technicians that it was chattering, hoping they would take a look. Not sure if they looked at it, they were not very talkative…. Anyways it’s still making the noise. I do not hear anything else while it’s chattering, I’ve cycled power on and off and even tapped it and still the noise is present. I’m thinking about just buying a new one and replacing it myself, not sure if I should leave it to the pros or if I can do this myself??

Welcome to the forums.

You should be able to replace it yourself. The module isn't very expensive and a spare is always good to have anyway.

I'm not the oil burner pro here but you may have a problem with the cad cell. Possibly dirty.
