Replacing inducer motor capacitor

Annual checkup folks told me that the capacitor is leaking. I found one that had the same rating as I could see on the one that's in there (4 uF, 370 V) here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o00_s00

My question is: I don't see any polarity on either. Does it not matter which of the two brown wires connect to which terminal on the capacitor ?

I am new to the forum and did try to search for an answer but this is probably too basic! Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forums.

In your application the capacitor is used for AC and there are no polarity concerns.

A completely different story when replacing a capacitor in a DC circuit.

It is actually for the gas furnace, not for A/C. I did also replace the dual ru capacitor for the outdoor A/C unit, and there I had to connect the right wires to the right terminals, hence the question. Thanks for your quick reply.

Normally.........................

The abbreviation for alternating current is AC.
The abbreviation for air conditioning is A/C.

Got it!! So it's safe to connect this single run capacitor any which way then. Thanks.
