I have a gas unit under the house.my compressor is outside. I can hear what sounds like a fan running under my house but the blower isn't on. Other than that everything seems to be working fine the unit cools and heats perfectly but when the blower goes off I can still hear the sound.

First of all, I'm not very handy, and have basically zero furnace experience, so i was hoping you folks could give me some advice. With hours of tutorials, scouring manuals, learning about control boards, and troubleshooting, I've determined that my inducer motor is shot. With some encouragement it will spin, but will not start back up again on the next cycle, and while it is spinning, it's very loud. For reference: Furnace is a Carrier 58STA110-16 Inducer motor is a Jakel J238-150-1527 A quick online check for a new inducer assembly is well over $300, which is not an option. My question is, do i have to use identical model numbers, or can i go with cheaper ones, as long as they have the same brackets and connectors etc. For example, I've found several alternative model numbers, that look identical, for hundreds less on ebay (although some are used, which I am not above). So far I've found: J238-100-10110 J238-150-15216 J238-112-11203 All of which appear identical in both connections and brackets. Another option would be to buy the base motor and try to build the assembly myself, but im hesitant to try that, as i know i will need buy some additional parts, and maybe even some tools. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
